Services for Bill Hofer, age 80, of El Cajon, California will be held on April 9th, 2022 at 1:30pm at South Maple Ridge Cemetery in Stanchfield, Minnesota.
Pastor Dale Cope will be officiating.
Bill passed away on Thursday, February 24th 2022 at 6:30pm with wife Kay and son Jason by his side at their son’s home in Salado, Texas.
He was born on May 14, 1941 to Walter F. Hofer & Gladys L. Cavin Hofer at Quintard (Mercy) Hospital in San Diego, California.
He graduated from Lincoln high school in 1959.
He married (10yrs)and had two daughters with first wife Gail and went to work in the industrial linen supply business for 40 yrs with Gates Admiral/ Aramark.
He married Kay Moline on August 22, 1975 in the Imperial Valley where he was involved with the Lyons Club & was chapter President in Brawley, Ca. before returning to San Diego in 1978.
He and Kay were married for 47 years and together raised their son Jason and were all very active in the Bass fishing community. Belonging to The Strokers Bass Club since the inception, 1970-71 until present, he assumed many roles in the club and was recently awarded President for life.
He was very proud to be part of such a rewarding sport that he shared with everyone any chance he had. He may have forgotten your name, but he’d never forget a fishing spot, lure used, line, or what the weather was that day and kept meticulous records of every trip
out! His garage looked like a tackle store any man would be thrilled to own!!
He is survived by his wife Kay, son Jason Hofer&Gretchen, of Salado, Tx, daughter Teri Dizaye, of Winchester Ca., four Grandchildren, William(&Wife Phoebe) and Sarah Hofer, Shaydia and Aliya Dizaye, 10 nephews, and 2 nieces, and several greats.
He was predeceased by his parents and half sister Shirley Carney.
