Van Ray Savage Obituary

Van Ray Savage, 81, of Belton, Texas passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, August 31, 2024, at Scott & White hospital in Temple, Tx. Van was a loving husband, father, and Paw Paw.


Van was born in Dallas, Texas on August 18,1943 to Preston and Esther Savage. He graduated from the University of Texas in Arlington.  He married his wife Kathryn Adamson on January 1, 1977, in Las Vegas, Nevada. They bought a house in Morgan’s Point Resort in 1979 and lived there until 2019 when Van and his wife had to move in with their daughter due to their declining health. He worked at the Texas Comptroller Office for 30+ years and then retired. He then was a substitute teacher at BISD for several years after retirement. He was an avid fisherman and always loved spending time with his grandkids. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.


Van is survived by his daughter and caretaker Vanessa Price; granddaughter, Christina Price; two grandsons: Landon and Alexander Price, and brother, Gary Savage.


Van is preceded in death by his wife Kathryn Savage, his parents Preston and Esther Savage, and brother, Stanley Savage.


There will be a celebration of life for Van on Sunday, September 15th from 12 pm – 3 pm at


60 Morgan’s Point Blvd. Morgan’s Point Resort.
