Thomas Allen Harper, of Salado, Texas, took his place in eternity with his heavenly Father on Sunday June 16, 2013.
Tom was born in Botetourt, Virginia to Carl and Lottie Harper. Tom was the fifth of ten children, with five brothers and four sisters.
After working many years with national home building corporations, Tom and his wife Dawn founded Symphony Homes 8 years ago. He was on the Board of Directors for the Central Texas Home Builders Association, supported Peaceable Kingdom Retreat for Children, and worked with Habitat for Humanity. Tom’s Involvement at Grace Bible Church included: Deacon chair, church plant launch team member, small group leader, Celebrate Recovery program ministry leader, and Building Committee chair. He was also an avid golfer.
Tom is survived by his wife Dawn of 24 years and three children, Tom Jr. and wife Terry, Tracie and Heather and grandson, Dustin Collier.
Tom’s brothers and sisters are : Inez and husband Bob Flora of Roanoke VA, Kersey and wife Annette Harper of Roanoke, VA, Ronnie Harper of Roanoke VA, Sylvia and husband Gerald St. Clair of Roanoke VA, Larry and wife Dale Harper of Leesburg FL, Lena and husband Jim Farley of Anderson SC, Terry and wife Cheryl Harper of Hurricane WV, Vickie and husband Neil Milliken of Hampton VA, Mark and wife Renae Harper of Apex NC.
Tom is preceded in death by his 2 parents and Heather’s mother, Leslie Brodie Harper, two sisters-in-law, Joyce and Kathy Harper.
Tom took a special interest in helping children and wishes memorial donations to be made to Peaceable Kingdom Retreat for Children at 19051 FM 2484, Killeen, TX, 76542.
