Thomas Eugene (Gene) Duckett was born February 3, 1947, in Waco, Texas to Johnny and Ethel Duckett.  In 1949 the family moved to Brazoria, TX where he grew up and attended school.  He graduated from Columbia High School in West Columbia, TX in 1965 and was drafted into the Army soon after graduation.  He served in the Vietnam War.

Gene passed away Saturday, September 28, 2024, in the VA Hospital in Temple, TX after succumbing to cancer.  He was 77, He is preceded in death by his parents, Johnny A. and Ethel Duckett.

He is survived by his wife, Naomi Duckett; daughter, Rachelle Sills and husband Billy; brother, Johnny Wayne Duckett; sister, Elaine Boehme; three grandchildren: Tommy Mattox, Robert Reynolds and wife Sofia, Christina Sills; four great-grandchildren: Trae Mattox, Anthony Elliott, Nicholas Elliott and Logan Elliott, plus numerous nieces and nephews, family members and friends.
