Ruth Pflum Obituary

On July 12, 2020, Ruth Pflum departed this world to join her husband Ronald Pflum with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Ruth was born Ruth Anna Erika Kuhnl to parents Josef and Margareta Kunhl on April 20, 1939.  Ruth was born in the city of Duppau in Sudentenland, Germany.  In 1946, following WWII, Ruth moved with her family to West Germany.  In 1965 Ruth met and married U.S. Army soldier Ronald Pflum.  Ron and Ruth lived in Germany for over a decade and while in Germany they welcomed their daughter Michelle to the family in 1972.  Ron and Ruth moved to Salado in 1982 and Ruth lived in Salado for the remainder of her life.  Ruth was widowed in 1987 and raised Michelle as a single mother for many years.

Ruth worked for many years at the Mill Creek Golf Club and was very active and outgoing in the community.  She had many friends and enjoyed swimming at Mary Hardin Baylor, Pilates class, her book club and and numerous other activities with her many friends.  She was always "on the go" and never sat idle.  She enjoyed her many plants and had a wonderful "green thumb".  She also took great enjoyment from the multitude of hummingbirds that were constantly buzzing around the feeders in her backyard.

Ruth's greatest joy was spending all her holidays and all her spare time with her grandchildren, daughter and son-in-law.  She loved traveling with her family to many countries, states and vacation destinations.  Her grandchildren were her life and joy which their photos and artwork decorating her home was a testament to.

Ruth will be greatly missed by her many friends and family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Pflum and her parents Josef Karl Kuhnl and Margareta Maria Kuhnl.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Dan McQueen; her sister and brother-in-law, Marlene and Ray Taylor; her sister, Heidi Fratus; her brother and sister-in-law, Peter and Martina Kuhnl; and her grandchildren: Savannah, Josef and Olyvia McQueen

A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date/
