Ron Anderson, 80, of Salado died Wednesday, March 18, at Scott and White Hospital in Temple after a brief illness.

Ron was born on February 21, 1935 in McHenry, North Dakota to Norman and Ada Anderson. On September 24, 1954 he married his high school sweetheart, Phyllis Ann Tufte. For the first two years of their married life, Ron served in the U.S. Army. In 1960 he graduated from North Dakota State University with an Electrical Engineering Degree. In the fall of 1960, Ron and Phyllis moved their family to Cedar Rapids, Iowa where he began his 31 year career with Collins Radio/Rockwell International. In

1974, Ron was promoted and moved his family to Plano, Texas where he spent the rest of his working career. Upon retirement in 1990, Ron and Phyllis moved to Salado to enjoy a life of leisure, golf, and regular visits with family close by. His golden years were filled with the laughter of his grandchildren

and great-grandchildren whom he loved dearly. One of Ron's leading characteristics was his passion for lending a hand to whomever needed it. No matter if it was help with the car, or simply a warm meal, Ron was there for anyone who needed him at a moments notice.

He was preceded in death by his infant sons, Gary and Terry, in 1955, and his daughter, Debi Kay, in

1998.

Survivors include his beloved wife and five children: Valerie and Charlie Mccarley of Richardson; Rick and PeggyAnderson of Austin; Laurie Gregg of Austin; Pam and Tom Langford of Round Top; and Rhonda and Terry Yon of Georgetown, along with eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

A memorial service for Ron Anderson will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, March 27th at the First Baptist Church of Salado.
