On Saturday August 29, 2020, Roddy Kent Duty of Sealy, TX. went to be with the Lord and his family members that have proceeded him. Roddy was a honest, good hard working man and also was a fighter when it came down to his final fight. He leaves behind 3 children, Dedra Beyer of San Antonio, TX., Tracy Vainio of San Antonio, TX. and Edward (TC) Duty of Katy, TX. He will also be missed by his Grandchildren, Jonathan Beyer, David Beyer, Mark Beyer, Katelyn Wright, Joshua Goudy, Monica Lynn Hrdlicka Duty and Rebecca Duty. Some of the Grandchildren never got to meet Roddy, but that if they did, they would have seen a loving man trying to reach out to them, Great Grandchildren- Riley Lynn-Hrdlicka Cortinas and Elliot Beyer.
Roddy was born April 5, 1940 to Jesse Milam and Mary Josephine (Sanders) Duty, Roddy attended Killeen High School and graduated in 1959. Roddy served in the US Navy, 1960-1962. He was last surviving child of Jesse and Mary Duty, sister and brothers: Marion Jewell Cormier (B: 9/17/1926- D: 3/3/2003), William Harold Duty (B: 9/22/1929- D: 9/7/2000), Lester Gayle Duty (Stillborn 9/1/1934), Beldon Brent Duty Sr (B: 2/13/1938- D: 4/9/1997), Anthony Duane Duty (B: 8/25/1950- D: 10/5/2018 ). Nieces and Nephews: Marion Jewell Cormier- Monelle Ochoa, Ronnie Hughes (Deceased), Gail Hughes (Deceased), K Yvette (Vetsie) Myers, William Harold Duty- Gary Dale Duty, Michael Trent Duty, Tonya Denise Johnson, Dorion Jacquin Duty, Beldon Brent Duty Sr- Melinda Leah Mauger, Meleah Linda Dunn, Joette Schoolcraft, Jana Duty Hunsicker (B: 12/1964- D: 4/4/2019), Catrina Duty, Beldon Brent Duty Jr (B: 8/11/1978- D: 5/14/1995), Anthony Duane Duty- James Duty and Stephanie Duty.
A graveside service for Roddy K. Duty will be Sept 5th, 2020 at 11am at Live Oak Cemetery.
Final arrangements are being handled by Broecker Funeral of Salado, TX.
