Robert Michael McAdams Obituary

Robert Michael “Mike” McAdams passed away November 29, 2023, at the end stage of dementia. He
was born March 28, 1935, in Burlington, N.C. He was the fourth son of James Glenn and Eleanor Sargent
McAdams.
He graduated with a degree in Nuclear Engineering from North Carolina State University. He worked at
the DOE Pantex Plant, Amarillo, TX, in radiation safety from 1982 until his retirement in 2002.


He is survived by his wife Laura McAdams,


He is also survived by children: Ian McAdams, Cris Hogue and Justin, Jeremy McAdams and Aimee, Toby McAdams and her partners Windy and Meg and grandchildren: Wendy, Meg, Aiden, Sean, Adam and Micah,.


He enjoyed using his good baritone voice, always on pitch, singing in choirs and choruses over the years.
He loved to read over his last years, especially science and history magazines. His TV favorites were the
Lone Ranger and other TV oldies.


Mike requested that there be no services, only donations, should one choose, to: Salado UMC, St. Jude
Children’s Hospital or North Carolina State University.



The family would like to thank the medical team on 6N at Hillcrest in Waco. Walter went way beyond
the usual duties of a nurse.
