Robbie Bennett died Saturday, March 5th in Spring, Texas. Services will be Saturday, March 12, 2016 with a visitation and family gathering with a light lunch from 12 to 2PM at the First Baptist Church, Salado followed by a church service at 2PM with Deacon Kevin Allen officiating. Burial will follow the service.
She was born in Tahoka, Texas to Willie and Laura Bowen and grew up near Coleman, Texas. She married Eugene W. Bennett on Feb. 10, 1946. Mrs. Bennett graduated from Central Texas College in the early 70’s and received a degree in nursing. While living in Llano, she worked as an RN at the Llano hospital and after moving to Salado she worked in the VA hospital in Temple, Texas. After retiring she remained in Salado until 2010. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Salado and a member of Daughters of the Republic of Texas. Her and Eugene work together with Texas Baptist Retired Builders for a number of years while residing in Salado.
Survivors include one daughter, Sue Jean Bennett of Goldthwaite, three sons, David Bennett of Goldthwaite, Clayton Bennett of Galveston and Wayne Bennett of Magnolia. She had seven grandchildren, Shannon Bennett, Jeremy Bennett, Hillary Butella, Justin Bennett, Michelle Martinez, Jenny Patrick, Sara Bennett and eleven great grandchildren.
