Services for Raymond Andrew Kite, 74, of Salado will be at 11am, Wednesday March 9, 2016 at First Baptist Church of Salado with Travis Burleson officiating.

Internment will be March 9, 2016, at the Salado Cemetery immediately following the service with military honors. Raymond Andrew Kite passed away March 5, 2016 at his residence. He was born in Texarkana, Arkansas to Raymond and Judy Kite.


Ray married his wife Mary on April 30, 1977. They have been residents of Salado for 38 years.


In October, 1959, Ray enlisted into the United States Air Force and served 4 years.



When he left the service he began working for Xerox for 22 years. Then became self-employed owning a copier business.


Ray eventually retired from the University of Mary Hardin Baylor as the Audio Visual Director.


Ray is best known with his friends and family for his numerous jokes and witty character. He had a willingness to help anyone with anything when they called no matter the time of the day. Ray enjoyed classic country music and enjoyed taking his wife dancing. Ray loved fishing and his pontoon boat. He always looked forward to his men’s family annual trip to the coast for deep sea fishing with his sons, brother and nephew. Often his family would know to find him in his shop where he enjoyed tinkering. Going along with his motto of, “If man made it, I can fix it”. He loved to read old westerns, loved old cars and was a Texas history buff.


Ray always enjoyed visiting Arkansas where he could spend time with his family. During this time there was no limit to card playing, dominoes or snipe hunting. He enjoyed a good prank anytime.


Ray loved his children and was a great father. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. Every child he met brought a smile to his face.


Survivors include his wife Mary Kite; sons Ronnie Kite and wife Jenny of Belton; Kevin Kite of King; David Kite and wife Becky of Salado; daughter Cassie Campbell and husband Sam of Salado; brother Wayne Kite and wife Lola of Texarkana, Arkansas; 8 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren.



A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, March 8th from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM.


Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association @ Alz.org.


Arrangements are being handled by Broecker Funeral Home of Salado.
