Oscar Rolando Correa (Rolly) Obituary

In Loving Memory of a Devoted Husband, Father, and Public Servant.  7/4/1957 - 7/31/2025

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Oscar Rolando Correa (Rolly), age 68 of Salado, Texas.  A Celebration of Life is planned to be held at the Salado United Methodist Church in Salado Texas on Friday, August 8th at 2:00 PM.  Brady Johnston (Pastor First Methodist, Midlothian) and Tommy Prud’homme (Pastor Salado United Methodist Church) will officiate.  Internment in the SUMC Columbarium will follow.

Rolly was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and retired Game Warden, retired Bell County Constable, and retired Salado United Methodist Church Missions & Outreach Director. He passed away on 7/31/2025 following a courageous four-month battle with complications from a liver transplant.

Rolly dedicated his life to serving and protecting others. With decades of service in law enforcement, he wore the badges of Game Warden, and then of Bell County Constable, and held both offices with honor, integrity, and quiet strength.  Rolly led the Salado United Methodist Church as Mission and Outreach Director from June 2010 through June 2024, serving our local communities in Salado and places where disasters happened in the US. He also led missions to communities in Haiti, Belize, and Africa. He was admired and deeply loved by his many friends, Church Family, the communities he served, and his immediate family. His colleagues respected him and saw him as an honorable leader with great integrity.

A man of resilience and fierce loyalty, Rolly faced his final months with the same determination and grit that defined his life. Though his transplant gave hope for his healing, complications arose that tested every ounce of his strength. He never gave up – fighting through each day with the love of his family and friends surrounding him.

He leaves behind his loving wife of 45 years, Beth Correa, who stood beside him through every joy and every hardship. August 18th would have marked their 46th Wedding Anniversary.

Rolly is also survived by his three children, Dustin, Andrea (Annie) and husband Brady, and Tyler and wife Courtney, and five beloved grandchildren who brought him immense pride and joy. In addition, he leaves behind his mother, Olga Correa of Raymondville, Texas and his sister, Cynthia Merritt of Raymondville, Texas. His legacy lives on in their hearts and in the values he instilled in them.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in his memory to the Salado United Methodist Church Missions, Salado, Texas.

Arrangements are being handled by Broecker Funeral of Salado.
