Obituary

Nina Lynne Bolender Patrick died on October 23, 2022, at Creekside Terrace in Belton, TX. She was born
on August 3, 1944, to Clarence and Lucille Bolender in Gowanda, New York. Nina settled in Texas to be
near family.
She was a high school English teacher for many years, after graduating from the University of Southern
Mississippi. She battled a long illness with multiple sclerosis most of her adult life. Her hobbies
included: reading, crocheting, and watching TV, in particular game shows and, especially, Jeopardy.
She is survived by her daughter, Susan Smith and son-in-law, Cory Smith; her cherished grandchildren:
Miles Smith, Bethany Smith and Lydia Smith; brother, Carl Bolender and wife Shawn; sister, Mary Beard
and husband Freddie, plus, many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation at engage.mymssa.org.
Graveside services will be on Thursday, November 17, 4:00 pm, at Pleasant Valley Cemetery in
Nolanville, TX with Pastor David Whitley of Mountainview Baptist Church, officiating.
Services are in the care of Broecker Funeral Home of Salado.
