Marvin Williams Obituary

Services for Ret. CSM Marvin Lee Williams will be Monday, November 8, 11:00 am at the Salado Church of Christ with Pastor Joe Keyes, officiating.  Burial will be 2:00 pm at Central Texas Veterans Cemetery in Killeen with Military Honors.

Marvin died on October 28, 2021 at Baylor Scott and White Hospital in Temple. He was born on March 5, 1941 in Alpine, TX, Brewster County, to George Desmond Williams and Nora Boone Williams.  He graduated from Midland High School in 1959. Marvin enlisted in the US Army and retired after 28 years as Command Sergeant Major.  Having served a tour in Germany and two tours in Viet Nam, he was awarded the Purple Heart.

Marvin married Carolyn Fern Krantz on March 25, 2000.  The couple lived in Jarrell, TX for 22 years.

Marvin was a member of the Salado Church of Christ.  He was a lifetime member of DAV, VFW, Military Order of the Purple Heart and the American Legion in Jarrell.

He coached, rode motor cycles, loved to dance, and work in the yard.

He is survived by his wife; Sons: Tony Lee Williams of West Orange and Terry Lee Williams of West Orange; daughter, Tammy Lynn Yoste and husband Michael of Chatsworth, Georgia; granddaughter: Janet Owens and husband Matt of Denton, Kentucky; great grandchildren: Matthew Vernon Owens and Daisy Lynn Owens.  Step-children: Stanley Paul Medeiros  and wife Melinda of Andice, TX, Carol Lynn Shelton and husband Travis of Liberty Hill, TX; grandchildren: Stanley Paul Medeiros III USN stationed in Japan; Samantha Renee Medeiros of Andice, TX, Parker, Payton, and Presley Shelton of Liberty Hill, TX; brother: George Vernon Williams and wife Lea of Midland, TX. 

A visitation will take place 10:00 am at the Salado Church of Christ prior to the service.
