Martha Jane Wiseman Crappell

Martha Jane Wiseman Crappell, 68, of Salado, Texas passed away Wednesday, November 8, 2023.  Visitation & Celebration of Life will be held at First Cedar Valley Baptist Church, Salado, Texas, officiated by Pastor Donnie Jackson on Saturday, November 18, 2023, starting with Visitation from 1:00 - 2:00 pm and Celebration of Life from 2:00 - 3:00 pm with graveside immediately following at Cedar Valley Cemetery.  

Martha was born July 8, 1955, in Florence, Texas to Fay and Viola Wiseman.  She was the youngest of 7 siblings.  Her most favorite thing to do was visit with family and friends, especially during family reunions. Martha graduated from Florence High School in 1973.  She worked many jobs and traveled every chance she got.  In 1996 she graduated from Central Texas College with a Bachelor of Social Work Degree. One of her proudest career moments was working for the State of Texas.  She worked and retired from the Texas Department of Family Protective Services, Killeen, Texas.

Martha's most treasured moment was that of her salvation in Jesus Christ, she loved her savior and was so thankful that she is His, and that she could show Jesus to all. Martha’s greatest joy was her children and their families, she was their biggest fan.

Survivors are her daughter Nikki Carlile and husband Jamie Carlile of Salado, Texas; daughter Lucy Kessler and husband Mike Kessler of Oneida, New York; grandchildren Jason Ortegon, Braxton Carlile, Ryland Carlile, Addison Carlile and Michaela Kessler; stepdaughter Suzi Mertins; stepson Bryan Crappell; step grandchildren Shy, Raven, Jerid, & Jaylee, and great grandchild Kakoa.  She is survived by her three sisters: Linda & Donnie Jackson of Salado, Texas; Annola Abbey of Woodward, Oklahoma; Nelda Caldwell of Gallipolis, Ohio; along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Martha is proceeded in death by parents Fay & Viola Wiseman, her three brothers: James Conlee Wiseman, Billy Wiseman, & Waymon Wiseman.
