It's with great sadness we announce the passing of Mark Andrew West who lost his long but courageous battle against diabetes and dementia on November 6th at his Salado, Texas, home surrounded by his beloved family.

Mark was born in Indianapolis, IN., to Bob and Mary Jane West, April 6, 1958. He has two brothers, Steve and Dennis West.  

He and Danielle met at a singles Baptist Retreat in Ridgecrest North Carolina in 1991. A year later they married and began a new journey that would last the next 31 years.  They retired and settled in Salado approximately 4 years ago to be closer to their grandchildren.

Mark earned his AA in Art from the Florida Junior College in Jacksonville in 1982. Became an Ordained Minister in 1985. His BA of Theology from Florida Baptist Theological College in 1989. His MA of Science in Education Media Design and technology degree in 2010, achievements that made him especially proud. He had an insatiable appetite for knowledge and a love for all things Art but most importantly and dear to his heart loved the Lord, his family and his Mountain Dew.

Mark had a keen mind and brightened every room and event with his wonderful sense of humor. He had an immense presence, a warm demeanor, and loved a good debate. He was kind, loving and truly caring, which left an indelible imprint on everyone he met.

He is preceded in death by his father, Bobbie E. West; and survived by his mother, Mary Jane West devoted wife, Danielle; brother, Steve and wife Michelle West; brother, Dennis West; son, Robert West; stepson Jefferey and wife Holley Davis; stepdaughter, Ashley and husband Terry Armstrong; Niece, Sarah and husband TJ Greene; 6 grandchildren; Billy, Grace, Casey, Sarah, Gabriella and Pyper; great niece, Roxanna and great nephew Tobias.

Services will be held on Thursday, Nov. 16, 2023, at 11:00 pm, at First Baptist Church in Salado. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or any charity of your choice.

Services are in the care of Broecker Funeral Home, Salado.
