Margie Ann Kohring, 80, of Salado, Texas, peacefully passed away on Thursday, November 20th. Margie lived a full and joyful life, centered around the people she cherished and the passions that brought her happiness.

A gifted hairdresser for 53 years, Margie made a lasting mark on her community. She proudly owned and operated two beauty shops, places where clients became friends and where her warmth and talent made everyone feel special. Her work was more than a career—it was a way she touched countless lives.

Margie had many joys outside her profession. She loved cooking, tending to her plants, and spending time with friends and family. She was always ready for a good laugh, a little adventure, or a trip to the casino or the cruise ship—where her spirited nature shined.

Deeply involved in her community and her faith, Margie was a dedicated member of the St. Stephen Catholic Church in Salado. She was also a member of the St. Stephen Women’s Society and the Salado Ladies Community League. She especially loved helping with the church Fall Festival, giving her time and heart to something that brought her great purpose and connection.

Margie will be remembered for her kindness, her loyalty, her humor, and the easy comfort she brought to others. Her legacy lives on in the family she loved, the friends she treasured, and the many lives she touched through her work and community service.

Margie was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Donald Kohring. Survivors include a daughter, Krystal Broussard of College Station; a son, Kyle Kohring and wife Lane Kohring of McKinney; one brother, William Pavlat of Granger; four grandchildren, Emilee and Tanner Broussard, Kate and Liam Kohring; and her special friend Felix Skarpa of Dayton, TX.

Visitation will be Monday, November 24th at St. Stephen Catholic Church in Salado at 5:00pm. A Rosary will follow at 7:00pm. Services will be Tuesday, November 25th at St. Stephen Catholic Church at 10:00am.  A burial will follow at Bellwood Memorial Park in Temple.  In lieu of flowers, the family invites friends to honor Margie by planting something beautiful in their own gardens, just as she did throughout her life or consider making a donation to your favorite charity in Margie’s honor.

She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
