Margaret L. Northam January 25, 1933 - December 8, 2025 Wed, Dec 10, 2025 at 11:38 AM A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Margaret L. Northam, 92, of Belton, at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 13, 2025 at St. Stephen's Catholic Church in Salado. Burial will follow at Rest Haven Cemetery in Belton. The family will receive visitors from 8:30 a.m. - 9:30 a.m. at St. Stephen's Catholic Church in Salado on Saturday, December 13th prior to the service, with the rosary at 9:30 a.m. Margaret L. (Pimento) Northam died on Monday, December 8, 2025 at her home in Belton, surrounded by her family. She was born on January 25, 1933 in Honolulu, Hawaii to Manuel and Mary (Pregill) Pimento. Margaret was the middle child of thirteen siblings. She was one month shy of her ninth birthday, when her family witnessed the bombing of Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941. She and her siblings would reminisce on the memories and share their stories of the tragic day and those that followed with their children and grandchildren. On July 15, 1955, she married Billy C. Northam, of Belton, while he was stationed on the naval base in Hawaii. She joined him on a journey back to the mainland and they made their home in Central Texas. She was a dedicated mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother. She worked for a time with Temple ISD in the Food Service Department. Her love of caring for children carried her to the University of Mary-Hardin Baylor, where she worked and managed the campus daycare for the university. She enjoyed traveling with her family and embarked on many trips home to Aiea, Hawaii. Margaret was able to travel back to Hawaii on numerous occasions and even shared the experience with her children and grandchildren. She was a proud member of the Hawaiian Aikane Club and the Streamliners of Houston. Margaret is preceded in death by her husband of 66 1/2 years, for whom she cared for in his final days battling dementia. She was also preceded in death by 11 siblings. She leaves behind two children, Cathy Goonan and husband Brian of Belton, Chuck Northam of Academy; her grandchildren: Brandy McLerran and husband Graham of Huntsville, Clifton Goonan and wife Samantha of Temple, Justin Goonan of Tennessee, Ashley Dyess and husband Kris of Salado; Lane Northam and wife Katie of Belton, and Mason Northam of Belton. Great Grandchildren include Brenna Piper and husband Kameronn of Huntsville, Cody McLerran of Belton, Hunter and Emma Goonan of Temple, Haylee and Kolton Dyess of Salado, Loretta Goonan of Tennessee, and Bryce Northam of Belton. One Great-Great Grandchild, Mathew Ellisor of Huntsville; sister Pauline Hill along with numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Scott and White Hospice or the American Cancer Society.
