Kelli Lee (Vaughn) Buckner Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Kelli Lee Buckner, who left us on August 23, 2025, at the age of fifty-six. Born April 3, 1969, in San Pablo, California to parents William H. Vaughn and Cheryl M. Vaughn. She grew up in Vacaville, California with her older sister Kerry Lee. Much of her childhood was spent in the country where she and her sister discovered a world of animals. Both girls ended up having horses and riding not just for fun but competed in parades. Kelli rode in the women's working western division. Kelli was always a funny, little, ray of sunshine. She garnered so many wonderful friends and remained close to many of them throughout her life.

Kelli completed her high school education in Dixon, California. As a teenager she started working at fast food restaurants. Her work ethic and her intellect enabled her to become the manager of a store. She continued advancing, moving from fast food jobs to working at financial companies. While still living in Vacaville, she fell in love with a local boy, married and had two beautiful children. She then moved with him and his family to Texas where she started working for Dell Financial Services, eventually becoming a Compliance officer. Even in Texas with her California accent, which she was told she had, she had no problem making new and lasting friendships. Such wonderful friends, whether from Texas or California, became lifelong relationships.

Kelli was a daughter, a sister, a wife, a mother and so much more. Her passing was unexpected and brought great sorrow to so many. It is amazing how many lives we all touch. Sometimes it takes the unexpected for us to realize that. We may be saying goodbye to our earthly Kelli, but she will forever remain in our heart, memories, and prayers.

Kelli was preceded in death by her father, Willliam H. Vaughn. She leaves behind her mother, Cheryl Williams of Belton, TX., her older sister, Kerry Lee Vaughn of Citrus Heights, CA., her son Jeremy Garrett Duke of Belton, TX., her daughter Lindsey Lee Duke of Salado, TX., and her pride and joy, grandson Jaxon Kanelos. Along with numerous Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, and Nephews. Kelli loved so many and that love was returned tenfold.

Her passing has brought us all sorrow and grief, but we can take comfort in the fact that she is at peace, resting in the loving arms of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
