Francis (Frank) Peter Anderson Obituary

Francis Peter Anderson, 68, of Salado, Texas passed away peacefully into the arms of

his savior on March 2, 2024. Francis, known to his friends as “Frank”, was born in Flint,

Michigan, on October 21, 1955, Frank was a beloved husband, father, grandfather,

brother, uncle, friend and dedicated military veteran.

Frank graduated from Fenton High School in Fenton, Michigan in 1973. He was a

member of the varsity cross country and varsity tennis teams. Frank was a fine tennis

player, and the #1 singles player during senior year. Frank was nominated for Who’s

Who among American high school students for his academic achievements.

Frank was an avid Detroit Lions and University of Michigan Wolverine fan. He had a

love for music, especially the blues. He and his 7 siblings regularly texted on a chat for

several years to stay connected. They are all very close. The chats encompassed

family, politics, and sports and it was a way they could celebrate with each other, laugh,

and cry together. Frank will be deeply missed by his brothers and sisters.

Frank proudly served in the U.S. Army as a pharmacy technician at Fitzsimons Army

Hospital in Denver, Colorado. He graduated from University of Mary Hardin Baylor and

went on to graduate with a master’s in business finance from Baylor University. Frank

retired in 2019 from Baylor Scott and White Health. He held a variety of positions during

his 30 years there.

Throughout his life, Frank found joy in photography, travel (especially to Michigan), and

occasional rounds of golf. Frank especially loved being a “PopPop” to his eleven

grandchildren and great grandchild. He loved riding 4 wheelers, going to band concerts,

watching sporting events, playing basketball, pickleball, cornhole and board games with

his grandchildren.

He was a founding member of Southern Exposure Photo Club. He had a beaming smile

that would captivate the room and if you were lucky enough to know Frank, you loved

him. He had a big bear hug that would envelop and welcome you.

He loved to spend time with his two sons. Hunting, fishing, and camping with Jason.

Spending evenings star gazing and playing chess with Benjamin. Sharing meals, great

conversations, and his love of watching sports with both sons.

Frank was a devout Catholic of Christ the King Catholic Church in Belton, TX. God

brought Frank and Jenell together in May 2017. Frank and his wife Jenell were united in

marriage at St. Stephen Catholic Church in Salado, TX. Putting God first, they were one

in the Lord. He studied theology and scripture throughout his life. He was a founding

member of Hearts Ablaze Prayer Group; always willing to share what he learned with

others.
