Eva Cobb Evans Obituary


– Visitation for Eva Cobb Evans, 90, of Salado, will be Sunday, August 11, 2013 at Broecker Funeral Home from 3:00PM to 5:00PM. Burial will be Monday, August 12, 2013, 11:30 AM, at Poynor Community Cemetery, Poynor, Texas.


Mrs. Evans died at her home, Thursday, August 8, 2013. She was born in Larue, Texas, October 27, 1922 to Jerry G. Cobb and Ella A. Cantrell.

After school years, she married Snub Evans in Jacksonville, Texas in 1941. Together they raised two children, mostly while living in Cleveland, Texas. At the passing of Snub, she decided to move to Salado to be near her children. She was a homemaker all her life


Eva loved to crochet, do needlework, sew, work crossword puzzles and read. She was also an avid Houston Astros baseball fan and would listen to every game.


Since here arrival in Salado in 1989, she was an active member of the Church of Christ, Salado.


Mrs. Evans is preceded in death by her parents, 4 brothers and 4 sisters.


She is survived by her son David and wife Marion, here daughter Lynda Taylor and husband Jay, grandson Jerry Taylor of Denver, Step-granddaughter Shana Lively, Step-grandson Brian Lively, step-granddaughter Hope Jones and 12 step-great grandchildren plus numerous nieces and nephews.
