Elvis Odell Counts, Jr.

On March 5th, 2023, Elvis Odell Counts Jr. passed away at his home in Salado, Texas, due to heart complications.

Elvis was born in Los Angeles, California on February 11th, 1942. He moved to Salado, Texas with his family in 2016.

The sudden and devastating loss has left behind his brother, Clarence Counts and his wife, Barbara, his children Mark Counts Sr. and his wife, Annette, Kevin Counts and his wife, Cheryl, Ronni Counts, Carrie Berg and her husband Jeff, and Greg Forhan and his wife, Tiffaney. He also joined his grandson, Austin Berg in heaven and left behind nine other grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

Elvis was also known as Dale to his friends and family and will always be remembered by calling anyone and everyone “George”…This made it easy to remember anyone’s name at any time.

Dale was a kind and generous person that would stop and help anyone in need. He was there for his family whenever they needed him but he also loved his “quiet time”. His most recent hobbies were taking photos and printing them out on his photo printer and putting jigsaw puzzles together. He would glue the puzzles when he was done because he said he spent so much time putting them together that he just couldn’t break it all apart again and let it sit in the box.

Everyone that met Dale was instantly drawn to his humor and he held on to that humor and joking personality until the very end. Even though his loss was sudden and all his family and friends are so sad to hear the news, we can all look back on all the good memories we shared with him. He will be greatly missed but his memories will remain in our hearts.

Dale will be buried at the Salado Cemetery on Saturday March 18th, 2023 with friends and family.
