Donald R. Clayton

On Sunday, March 8th, 2020, Donald [Don] Clayton, a faithful servant of Christ and loving husband, father, and grandfather, went home to be with his Lord at the age of 90 in Salado, Texas.

Don was born to Otis and Minnie Clayton in Huntington Park, California, on August 28th, 1929. After graduating from San Bernardino High School in 1947, Don served our nation's military. During his time in the military, he was able to travel the world with his family and then settled in New Mexico in 1984 upon retirement. Soon after, he and his wife Helen moved to Salado, Texas, to be closer to family.

Even in his retirement, Don continued to be an active member of his community, particularly with his involvement with the Salado Church of Christ, and the Salado Lions Club. He enjoyed playing golf, reading in his favorite recliner, and filling up the room with laughter.

He is survived by his wife Helen of 46 years, as well as his five children, twelve grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. Please join us in celebrating the life of Donald Ray Clayton through the following services:
