David L. Crews Obituary

David was born on September 17, 1931 to William Cleveland and Ella V. Haynes Crews in Jarrell, Texas. 


He grew up farming and working the fields in the Salado area with one sister and four brothers.  


He graduated from Salado High School and enjoyed playing baseball, especially in the Temple Minor League. 


He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Wilda Dennis Crews; son Dwayne Crews and wife, Kathy; son Randy Crews and wife, Libby; grandchildren Derrick Crews, Jason Crews, Larissa Crews Ross, J.D. VanSlyke, Lindi Jacks; as well as 14 great grandchildren. 


David served in the Army 240th DMZ Police in Korea 1955-1956.  He enjoyed meeting people as he served as a letter carrier for the US Postal Service for 30 years.  Outside of work, he enjoyed playing horse-shoes, softball, golf, and bowling.  He also enjoyed worship and fellowship with the fellow believers at First Baptist Church, Lancaster, Texas.  He lived life with a smile on his face and twinkle in his eye.
