Services for Cleota Ann Guthrie Whitt will be October 10, Thursday, 4pm at Victory Baptist Church FM 2843 Salado with Pastor Billy Borho, officiating. Burial in Cedar Valley Cemetery will be private.

Cleota Whitt died on Sunday, October 6, 2019 in a Harker Heights Long Term Care Facility.  She was 82 years old.  She was born on April 23, 1937 in Georgetown, TX to Virgil “Buddy” Guthrie and Mattie Mae Gibbs Guthrie. She married Loy “Bunk” Whitt in 1953 and raised six children.  Owners of Whitt Hardware Salado, Cleota managed the business.

She is survived by her husband of 66 years; sons: Larry, Harley, Virgil and Eric; daughters: Vivian and Irlene, 13 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren, plus, numerous nieces and nephews.

Cleota was preceded in death by her parents and sisters: Elna Cecil, Jo Whittenburg and Bonnie Russell.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Capital of Texas Chapter 5508 Hwy. 290 West Suite 206,  Austin, TX 78735.

Visitation will be on Thursday, 2 to 4pm at the church.

Broecker Funeral Home of Salado is in charge of the arrangements.
