Charlene was born in Branch, Texas, July 6, 1939 to Herman and Vida Fannin. She grew up in Lone Oak, Texas, graduated from Lone Oak High School and attended business school. Charlene moved to Garland, Texas where she started working at Resistol Hats, married and started her family. She then began a 30 year career at Kraft Foods, from which she retired in the early 1990’s
After retirement she never slowed down. Charlene worked various jobs including hair salons, daycares, and most recently with the Belton ISD as a monitor on a school bus with special needs children. Charlene loved to work, loved children and loved people.
Charlene also loved to travel the world with her friends, which she also took advantage of after retirement. She tried to visit as many different places as she possibly could, never slowing down until her body just wouldn’t allow it any longer.
She was and incredible mother and nothing was more important than her two daughters, Renae and Regina. She was wonderful sister, aunt, and friend. Charlene never missed a birthday card, a chance to send a holiday greeting card, a note to say “thinking of you”. She was the glue that held the family ties and friendships together. She was an incredible woman who will be greatly missed by so many.
Charlene is preceded in death by her parents Herman and Vida Fannin, Brothers Bobby Fannin and Billy Fannin and son, Charles Vaughan. Survived by her daughters Renae Cook and husband Bill, Regina Everett and husband Ray, Sister Doris Craighead, Brother Wallace Fannin, four grandsons Arynn, Zachary, Clayton, and Tye, one great-grandson, Ryan and numerous nieces and nephews.
