Myrtle N. Volney

Services for Myrtle Nora Volney will be Friday, June 28, 10:30 am, at St. Stephen Catholic Church with Father Jude, officiating.  Burial will follow in the Holland Cemetery with lunch at the Kuhlmann Center in Holland.

Myrtle was born on February 17, 1933 to Edward Frank Bartz and Nora Ella Lange Bartz.  She graduated from Bartlett-Holland High School.  On July 2, 1951, she married Albert Volney Jr., the love of her life, celebrating 32 years of marriage together.

Myrtle’s hobbies were fishing, gardening, Cowboy football and her family.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and husband; son, Russell Volney; sister, Ruby Bartz Grimmett and brothers: Logan, Lester and Allen Gene Bartz.  Sisters-in-law: Bonnie Bartz and Johnnie Bartz; brothers-in-law: Noel Lovellette and D. C. Volney.

She is survived by her son, Greg Volney and wife Lisa. Grandsons: Trent Volney and wife Katlyn, Travis Volney and wife Haley, Brock Volney, and Courtney Volney and husband Ricky. Great grandchildren: Hayes and Kaysen Volney and Chloe Sanchez.

Daughter-in-law Cindy Madden Volney. Sisters: Shirley Liles and husband Joe, Doris Mosley and Marge Lovellette. Brothers: Howard Bartz and wife Kathy and Kenneth Bartz and wife Jan.

A visitation will take place at Broecker Funeral Home on Thursday, June 27, from 5:00 – 7:00 pm with a recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 pm.
