Juanita Brickhouse Morris was born in Anniston, Calhoun County, Alabama on November 1, 1930 to James Albert Brickhouse and Carrie Ethel Griffith Brickhouse. She passed away on February 3, 2018. She was 87 years old.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Wilbur Murphy Garrison and a brother, Frank Levon Brickhouse.
She grew up in Anniston and at the age of twenty-one she married Murphy Garrison and moved to Atlanta, Georgia. After retirement from The Centers for Disease Control, she and her present husband, James Ralph Morris, relocated to Ellijay, Georgia and the beautiful North Georgia Mountains. In 2003, they relocated to Salado, Texas to be near her daughter and family. In 2016, they moved to Tyler, Texas. She was a former member of the First Baptist Church of Salado, TX and was currently a member at Calvary Baptist Church in Tyler, TX.
Juanita is survived by her husband, Ralph; her daughter, Betty Garrison Yearty and husband Kit, two grandsons, Jason Yearty and wife Carrie-Ann and Jonathan Yearty and wife Bethany, all of Tyler; four great grandsons, Cole, Connor, Aiden and Carson, and two great granddaughters, Ashley and Ella Grace; step-daughter Annette Morris Grenier of Gainesville, Georgia; two step grandsons, Thomas Wakeman; Stephen Wakeman and wife Jennifer; two step great grandsons, Nicholas and Levi, and a brother, James Stephen Brickhouse
Visitation will be Wednesday, February 7 from 4-6pm at Broecker Funeral home in Salado, TX. A graveside service will be held at Central Texas Veterans Cemetery in Killeen, TX on Thursday, February 8 at 11:00AM with Pastor Travis Burleson, 1st Baptist Church, Salado, officiating.
