Dean Bowling Obituary

Services for Dean will be at St. Stephen Catholic Church, Salado, Thursday, June 7th starting with a rosary at 10:30 am with Memorial Mass at 11:00 am. Interment will be at Salado Cemetery following the Mass. Dean Raymond Bowling was born to Francis and Abbie Bowling on May 9, 1939 in Hanson County South Dakota.

He graduated from Notre Dame Catholic High school in Mitchell South Dakota in 1957, and later continued to further his education. He met Lorna whom he later married on December 1, 1962. They moved to Rockford, Illinois, and he began service in the National Guard. Dean and Lorna were blessed with son Dale and daughter Kimberly. Later, Dean became a driver for Roadway, and finally retired and operated several small businesses.

His survivors include daughter Kimberly and husband Bill Beeney, son Dale Bowling; numerous nieces and nephews; five grandchildren Chad and wife Kimberly, Paige, Jason and Jamie, and two great grandchildren Grayson and Gavin. He is proceeded in death by his parents, wife Lorna just one short year ago, sisters; Lucine Klink Hammer, Lorraine Lienemann, Dorris Hildebrand and brother, Boyd Bowling.

Dean was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He always loved to socialize, tell stories, and most especially spend time with family and friends. He will be dearly missed. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St. Stephen Catholic Church Building Fund.
