Billie Jean Harris, 97 of Sherman, Texas passed away in Round Rock, Texas on December 24, 2017.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on January 8, 2018 in the Highland Cemetery in Durant, Oklahoma.

Jean was born on September 2, 1920 to Prentice and Edith Moore in Sawyer, Oklahoma.  She grew up in Oklahoma and Tennessee.  She attended the University of Arkansas and retired from Hercules Gallion in Durant, Oklahoma where she lived most of her retired life before moving to Sherman, Texas.

Jean loved being around her friends and playing outdoor sports.  Playing golf at the Durant Country Club was at the top of her list.  Her love for golf was sparked by her father and the legendary Arnold Palmer.  She also enjoyed the Oklahoma Sooners football team, crossword puzzles, card games and was an avid reader.  She was also a member of the First Baptist Church of Durant, Oklahoma.

She is survived by her son, Michael McDougal and wife, Carrol of Salado, Texas; 2 grandsons, Cary and wife, Diane McDougal of Flower Mound, Texas and Alan McDougal of Grapevine, Texas.  She also has 6 great grandsons, Ryan of Copperas Cove, TX., Mitchell of Flower Mound, TX, Nick of New Orleans, LA, Will of Flower Mound, Texas, Jaxon and Maxwell of Grapevine, Texas.

Jean is preceded in death by her husband Milton E. Harris of Durant, Oklahoma, her parents and one brother.

Broecker Funeral Home of Salado, Texas is in charge of arrangements.

For those who loved and cherished Billie, I am deeply sorry for your loss. I cannot imagine how difficult this time is for you. Our kind and loving creator Jehovah God (Psalms 83:18) offers comfort in the Bible. John 5:28, 29 - There will be a resurrection Revelation 21:4 - God is going to do away with death, sorrow, mourning, and pain.
